Narrative history
  859924 Private (44th Battalion, New Brunswick Regiment) Andrew Alexander Armstrong (b.1886) of Govan was KIA 19170823 and is buried at Vermelles British cemetery, Pas-de-Calais, France. He was the son of Andrew W. and Frances Armstrong who came from Chester, Cheshire, England, to homestead SW14-27-21-W2 southeast of Govan (they moved to Prestatyn, Flintshire, Wales, in 1915). Andrew Jr. was working the family farm when he enlisted at Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1916.
