White space is blank areas around text like blank lines and multiple spaces between letters or words. In standard web pages, all empty lines and multiple spaces are removed when the web page is displayed in a web browser like Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari.

Editor inserting a non-breaking space

To add extra spaces between words, use the non-breaking space shown framed in red above. Each time you click the icon, it will place a non-breaking space at the cursor position.

If you need to have some extra blank lines between paragraphs or between an image and some text, or even between two images, press Enter to create a new paragraph and click the non-breaking space icon. A blank line will be added each time you do this. You will not see anything but if you highlight the blank lines, you will see the highlighted spaces.
