At the June 20 meeting of the Regina chapter of the Canadian Aviation Historical Society — yeah, the meeting that was built around a tour of the Regina airport terminal building — we pledged to keep you informed of upcoming aviation events in this area. Here are two of them:

First, under way since July 1 is C150GO, which stands for “Canada 150 Global Odyssey.” A crew in a new Canadian-built Bell 429 Global Ranger helicopter will attempt to go around the world in between 35 and 40 days. It already has headed east from Ottawa toward Greenland, the UK, Belgium and Russia.

When back in North America, its stops will include Saskatoon, 15 Wing Moose Jaw and Regina. No dates are specified, but relying on the 35-40 day length, then it seems to me we can expect it here some time around Aug. 10. More info at https://www.c150go.ca
