Narrative history
  J17895 Pilot Officer (No. 432 Leaside Squadron RCAF pilot) Donald Arthur Rae (b.1922) of Regina was KIA 19440114 and is buried at Hanover war cemetery, Harrenburg, Germany. Rae's Lancaster went missing during a night raid on Brunswick. He was the only son of William, an accountant, and Elsie (Green) Rae who came from Stockton-on-Sea, Durham, England, and later retired to Vancouver, British Columbia. Don attended Connaught school and Scott collegiate and worked part time at the Robert Simpson Ltd. department store before enlisting at Regina in 1941.
