Narrative history
  R4418 Flight Sergeant (No. 405 City of Vancouver Squadron RCAF air gunner) John Ott (b.1918) of Bengough was KIA 19420924 and is buried at Aabenraa cemetery, Jutland, southwestern Denmark. Ott's Halifax was shot down during a night raid on Flensburg, Germany. He was the son of Howard and Flora Jean (Coubrough) Ott who came from Michigan and Ontario respectively and homesteaded SW5-8-23-W2 northwest of Glasnevin. John was born at Ogema and was working as a trucker when he enlisted at Regina on the outbreak of the war, leaving a wife Mary Craig at Regina (she later moved to Chemainus, British Columbia).

WM Webb and JM Rankin died on the same flight.
