Narrative history
  R115910 Flight Sergeant (No. 420 Snowy Owl Squadron RCAF navigator) Kenneth Malcolmson Gillies (b.1919) of Shellbrook was KIA 19430601 and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial near London, England, for airmen from the northern European theatre who died with no known grave. Gillies' Wellington went missing in transit to the middle east. He was the son of Robert and Lilly Olive (Malcolmson) Gillies both from Ontario. Kenneth was born at Prince Albert and was a teller for the Bank of Nova Scotia when he enlisted at Saskatoon in 1941. His brothers William and Harold both served in the Army.

JC Nicol and AJ Coates died on the same flight.
