Narrative history
  L13478 Private (Winnipeg Grenadiers) John Alfred (Jack) Coady (b.1921) of Luseland died 19421009 and is buried at Sai Wan war cemetery, Hong Kong. Coady was captured during the fall of Hong Kong and died in a POW camp. He was the son of William Angelo and Mary Devateen (Griffin) Coady who came from Prince Edward Island just before Jack was born. Bill served overseas during World War I and taught at several centres, finally settling at Baliol in 1929 and switching to grain buying four years later. Jack was born at Revenue and was a student when he enlisted at Regina in 1940. His brother Vernon served overseas with the Royal Canadian Engineers.
