Narrative history
  R129211 Warrant Officer 2 (No. 10 Bomber Reconnaissance Squadron RCAF wireless air gunner) Joseph Alexander (Joe) Barabonoff (b.1923) of Toronto, Ontario, died 19431020 and is buried at Saint-Donat Roman Catholic cemetery, Québec. Barabanoff was one of 24 fliers who perished when their Liberator crashed during a flight from Gander to Dorval. A cairn has been erected to their memory on Black Mountain. Joe was the son of Alexander and Polly (Ziebin) Barabonoff, a Doukhobor couple who homesteaded NW18-35-30-W1 in the Whitebeech district north of Arran (Polly later retired to Vancouver). Joe was working as a fitter when he enlisted at Toronto in 1941.
