Narrative history
  069183 Private (1st Canadian Mounted Rifles, Saskatchewan Regiment) William Alexander Anderson (b.1898) of Hubbard died 19180829 of gunshot wounds to the thigh and a fractured leg sustained at Monchy-le-Preux and is buried at Ligny-Saint-Flochel British cemetery west of Arras, Pas-de-Calais, France. William was the son of Mrs. A. Cummingham of Carlyle, where he was born, and was teaching school when he enlisted in the 249th Battalion at Melville late in 1916.
