| L84669 Lance Corporal (South Saskatchewan Regiment) Ernest Donald Stewart (b.1920) of Baildon was KIA 19440816 in Operation Tractable at Falaise and is buried at Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian war cemetery, Calvados, France. He was the only son of Charles Robert and Julia Amanda Stewart who homesteaded NW18-15-25-W2 southeast of Moose Jaw. Ernest was born at Moose Jaw and was faming with his family when he was called up for NRMA training at Regina early in 1942, he went active three months later. |
