Narrative history
  R128162 Warrant Officer 2 (No. 106 Squadron RAF air gunner) Lawson Frederick Sparling (b.1920) of Aylsham was KIA 19430626 and is buried at Steenderen general cemetery south of Zutphen, Gelderland, Netherlands. Sparling's Lancaster did not return from a night raid over the Ruhr valley. He was the son of Russell Harvey and Jessie Elizabeth (Turner) Sparling who came to Aylsham in 1935 to operate a store (they later moved to Saskatoon). Lawson was born at Vanguard, educated at Thornton and Ashville schools and was a student at the University of Saskatchewan when he enlisted at Saskatoon in 1941,
