| R139774 Flight Sergeant (No. 90 Squadron RAF air gunner) Frederick William Smith (b.1923) of Saskatoon was KIA 19431003 and is buried at Reichswald Forest war cemetery, Kleve, Germany. Smith's Stirling was shot down at Krefeld Bochum during a night raid on Kassel. He was the son of William, a warehouseman, and Nora Prudence (Ridewood) Smith. Frederick was born in the Sandwith district west of Rabbit Lake and educated at Wilson school and Saskatoon Tech before enlisting at Saskatoon late in 1941.
GE Dalton died on the same flight. |
