  H6501 Lance Corporal (Winnipeg Grenadiers) Charles Smith (b.1916) of Regina was KIA 19411219 and is commemorated on the Sai Wan Memorial Victoria, Hong Kong, for soldiers who died in the defence of Hong Kong and who have no known grave. He was the son of Minnie Hugh. Charles was born at Yorkton, attended Campion college and was a labourer when he enlisted at Winnipeg, Manitoba, on the outbreak of the war.
