Narrative history
  R85462 Warrant Officer 2 (RCAF wireless air gunner) John Joseph Slabick (b.1920) of Estevan died 19430224 and is commemorated on the Ottawa Memorial for airmen from the North American theatre who died with no known grave. Slabick's Lysander aircraft went missing on a non-combat flight between Sydney, Nova Scotia, and Scoudouc, Westmorland Co., New Brunswick. He was the son of Frank and Victoria (Matushko) Slabick of Estevan. John was born and raised at Summerberry and was farming when he enlisted at Regina early in 1941.
