| L64217 Private (South Saskatchewan Regiment) Alexander Scherr (b.1919) of Scott was KIA 19440814 at Clair Tizon in Operation Tractable during the push to Falaise and is buried at Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian war cemetery, Calvados, France. He was the son of Frank and Tilly Scherr who homesteaded NW1-37-22-W3 northwest of Revenue before moving to Tramping Lake. Alexander was born at Tramping Lake and was farming when he was called up for NRMA training at Regina in 1941. He went active at Vctoria, British Columbia, six months later. |
