Narrative history
  L86831 Corporal (Regina Rifles) (James) Alvin Sayese (b.1923) of Prince Albert was KIA 19440814 in Operation Tractable during the push to Falaise and is buried at Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian war cemetery, Calvados, France. He was the son of James Roderick and Janet Marion Sayese who farmed in the Steep Creek area east of Prince Albert before moving to the city. Alvin was born at Birch Hills, farmed with his family and worked for five years as a mechanical labourer with M&C Aircraft Repair before enlisting at Prince Albert early in 1942.
