Narrative history
  L2862 Private (Winnipeg Grenadiers) (George) Walter Sayers (b.1907) of Battleford died 19421222 and is buried at Sai Wan military cemetery, Victoria, Hong Kong. Sayers died from pellagra in a POW camp. He was the son of John and Eliza Sayers and the grandson of one of the founders of the community of Bresaylor, see Geographic Names of Saskatchewan. Walter was born at Bresaylor southeast of Paynton and was a labourer when he enlisted at North Battleford in 1941, leaving a wife Harriet Malvina and children Beatrice, Suzziel, Gerald, Violet, Ernest, Claude and Philip.
