Narrative history
  L103459 Rifleman (Regina Rifles) John (Buzz) Sawatzky (b.1923) of Osler was KIA 19440609 and is buried at Bény-sur-Mer Canadian war cemetery near Reviers, Calvados, France. Sawatzky was one of the 17 Saskatchewan POWs executed in cold blood by the infamous 12th SS Panzer Division, see the blog post below. He was the son of Jacob A. and Helena Sawatzky. Buzz was born at Rosthern and was farming with his family when he enlisted at Saskatoon late in 1942.
