Narrative history
R70915 Warrant Officer 2 (No. 200 Squadron RAF pilot) Samuel Ferrier (Fred) Santy (b.1915) of Regina was KIA 19420916 and is buried at Fajara war cemetery, Gambia. Santy's Hudson crashed at Jeswang, Gambia, just after taking off on a convoy escort mission. He was the son of William Ferrier and Gertrude Alice (Bowers) Santy. Fred, who was born at Moose Jaw and educated at Rouleau and Moose Jaw, was a reporter with the Regina Star until it folded, and then a Regina-Moose Jaw stringer for the Winnipeg Tribune before enlisting at Regina late in 1940. For references he provided the names of M.A. MacPherson and John Diefenbaker which says something about the political leanngs of both the Star and the Tribune.

TBT Moore died on the same flight.
