| H17600 Private (3 Mobile Laundry, Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps) Joseph Raymond (Joe) Sackney (b.1918) of Rama died 19420505 and is buried at Brookwood military cemetery near London, England. Sackney suffered a fractured skull when the truck in which he was a passenger overturned near Horsham, West Sussex. He was the son of Donald and Mabel Sackney. Joe was born at Buchanan and was farming when he enlisted at Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1940. He married Frances Caroline and she and their son Ronald lived at Winnipeg. |
