Narrative history
  L17664 Private (4 Field Dressing Station, Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps) Arthur Kornelius Peters (b.1919) of Superb was KIA 19440815 on his 25th birthday at May-sur-Orne and is buried at Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian war cemetery, Calvados, France. Peters was a conscientious objector who spent some time in a forest camp before being allowed to volunteer for the Medical Corps at Saskatoon in 1941. He was the son of Kornelius John and Susanna C. Peters, the family were among the last of the Mennonites to escape the Soviet Union in 1925. Arthur was born at Omsk, Siberia, and was a farm labourer when he enlisted. His brother Oscar served in Italy.
