Narrative history
  J26101 Flying Officer (No. 180 Squadron RAF pilot) Douglas Stuart Martinson (b.1918) of North Battleford was KIA 19441111 and is buried at Brussels Town cemetery, Evere-les-Bruxelles, Brabant, Belgium. Martinson's Mitchell was in a midair collision during a raid on Oldenzahle, Netherlands. He was the son of Edward and Margery A. (Woodman) Martinson, both English. Eddie was prominent in the Battleford community, serving 14 years as a school trustee and eight as a town councillor. Douglas was a talented hockey player, playing for the Nanaimo Clippers before enlisting at Vancouver early in 1942, and left a wife Rebecca Mary Winnifred at Calgary, Alberta. He was born at North Battleford, educated at Battleford and - during the "off-hockey" season - was a mechanic for Victory Motors at North Battleford.
