| R87012 Flight Sergeant (No. 43 Squadron RAF pilot) Alfred George Lynds (b.1918) of Sardis, British Columbia, was KIA 19420805 and is buried at Pont-Audemer communal cemetery, Eure, France. Lynds' Hurricane took off from Tangmere, West Sussex, England, and was never heard from again. He was the son of Dimock Bruce and Roseanna (Hill) Lynds (remarried as Mrs. Samways of Millerdale). Alfred was born at Ermine, attended Algoma and Astum schools and Saskatoon Tech and was farming near Chilliwack when he returned to Saskatoon to enlist late in 1940. |
