| L102825 Private (42 General Transport Co., Royal Canadian Army Service Corps) Daniel Dahl Looysen (b.1922) of Regina was KIA 19441229 and is buried at Bergen op Zoom Canadian war cemetery, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands. Looysen accidentally shot himself while trying to remove his gear from the cab of his truck after completing his detail. He was the son of Daniel and Anna Looysen and left a wife Pauline Anne Marie and son Dwight. Daniel Jr. was raised on a farm west of Radville and was working as a labourer at Western Machine Works when he enlisted at Regina late in 1942. |
