| L153556 Private (South Saskatchewan Regiment) Gilbert Ledoux (b.1922) of Battleford was KIA 19450120 at Mook Hill in the Nijmegen salient and is buried at Groesbeek Canadian war cemetery near Nijmegen, Gelderland, Netherlands. He was the son of Peter Joseph and Mary Ledoux who homesteaded SE21-47-11-W3 southeast of Mullingar. Gilbert was born at Richard, educated at the Misterton school, and was farming in the Eagle Hills with his family when he was called up for NRMA training at Regina late in 1942. He signed up for active service at Camp Shilo early in 1944. |
