| J27666 Flying Officer (No. 419 Moose Squadron RCAF pilot) (William) Morris Lacey (b.1919) of Driver was KIA 19440613 and is buried at Vieux-Berquin communal cemetery near Hazebrouck, Nord, France. Lacey's Lancaster went missing during a night raid on the marshalling yards at Cambrai. He was the only son of Frank and Allie Geneva (Morris) Lacey who came from Missouri to homestead NW34-29-13-W3 just northwest of Sovereign, moving to a farm near Driver (northeast of Smiley) in the 1920s. Morris was farming with his family when he enlisted at Regina in 1942, leaving a wife Millicent Jean (Rae) and son Vernon Ellis later of Marengo. |
