3293 Able Seaman (HMCS Fraser) Harry Kowbel (b.1919) of Blucher was KIA 19400625 and is buried at Weston Mill cemetery, Plymouth, Devon, England. The Fraser, a destroyer, went down in a collision with the cruiser HMS Calcutta during the evacuation of France. Harry enlisted at Esquimalt late in 1938 with neighbour Douglas Carlton.
