Narrative history
  L154351 Rifleman (Regina Rifles) Wasyl (Willie) Kowalchuk (b.1921) of Nobleville was KIA 19450218 at Moyland Wood during operations to clear the west bank of the Rhine and is buried at Groesbeek Canadian war cemetery near Nijmegen, Gelderland, Netherlands. He was the son of Dmetro and Nettie (Mudry) Kowalczuk who homesteaded NE4-32-7-W2 just west of the Dernic siding and southeast of Rama before moving to a farm east of Archerwill. Willie was farming with his family when he was called up for NRMA service at Regina n 1942, he transferred to active force at Victoria in 1944.
