Narrative history
  R132169 Flight Sergeant (No. 429 Bison Squadron RCAF navigator) John Kopchuk Jr. (b.1919) of Saskatoon was KIA 19430622 and is buried at Vlissingen Northern cemetery, Zeeland, Netherlands. Kopchuk's Wellington was shot down off the Island of Zuid, Beveland. He was the son of John, a carpenter, and Olga (Glowa) Kobychuk who came to Melville, where John Jr. was born, from Poland. After completing his grade 12, John Jr. farmed and then spent eight months as a broommaker at Saskatoon before being called up for NRMA training at Regina in 1941, he transferred to the RCAF two months later.
