Narrative history
  L100963 Gunner (8 Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery) Nick Koliniak (b.1923) of Mayfair was KIA 19440524 two days before his 21st birthday and is buried at Cassino war cemetery, Frosinone, Italy. He was the son of Harry Koliniak who came from Horodenka, Ukraine, to homestead NE26-46-11-W3 in 1914, his mother Annie arrived from Ukraine several years later. Nick attended Orel school and was farming with his family when he enlisted at Saskatoon in 1942.
