Narrative history
  R155628 Leading Aircraftman (RCAF aero engine mechanic) (William) Gordon Koehler (b.1920) of Lake Valley died 19430526 and is buried at Rosedale cemetery, Moose Jaw. Koehler was flying in a Cornell aircraft that was being tested after a major inspection when it broke up and crashed west of Barons, Alberta, on a flight from No. 2 Flying Instructor School, Pearce. He was the son of William and Emma Jane (Hans) Koehler who came to Grayburn from Palmerston, Wellington Co., Ontario, the year he was born, moving to Lake Valley in 1934. Gordon was born at Caron and was taking an aeronautical course at Moose Jaw when he enlisted at Regina early in 1942.
