Narrative history
  L107590 Private (Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Highlanders) Lewis Charles Kaun (b.1925) of Middle Lake was KIA 19450305 during operations to clear the west bank of the Rhine and is buried at Groesbeek Canadian war cemetery near Nijmegen, Gelderland, Netherlands. He was the son of Paul A.F. and Agnes T. (Auchstaetter) Kaun. Paul came from Iowa in 1911 to farm northeast of Middle Lake, Agnes was teaching when they were married at Humboldt in 1920. Lewis was farming with his family when he enlisted at Regina late in 1943.
