Narrative history
  L53901 Trooper (6th Armoured Regiment, 1st Hussars) William George (Willie) Kato (b.1920) of Regina was KIA 19440808 in Operation Totalize during the push to Falaise and is buried at Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian war cemetery, Calvados, France. He was the son of George and Marie Kato who came from Hungary, settling eventually at NE27-25-18-W2 in the Crosswoods district north of Southey. Willie was born at Southey and was working as a tinsmith at Regina when he enlisted there in 1941, leaving a wife Marie Rose.
