| L32855 Private (Veterans Guard) John Samuel Karaloff (b.1890) of Blaine Lake died 19431211 of cardiac arrest at the mental hospital at Battleford and is buried in the family plot at Slavanka cemetery, Blaine Lake. He was the son of Palahai (Polly) Karaloff who came from the Russian Caucasus in 1899. John was a Doukhobor, and was one of only about a dozen members of his faith who served in World War I when he was a member of the Saskatchewan Regiment (904284). John farmed between the wars and re-enlisted at Regina two weeks before his death, leaving a wife Eva. |
