Narrative history
  J22773 Flying Officer (No. 106 Squadron RAF pilot) George Donald Kain (b.1920) of Oxbow was KIA 19430823 and is buried at Reichswald Forest war cemetery near Kleve, Germany. Kain's Lancaster was shot down at Dusseldorf. He was the son of Donald and Mary Violet Christina (Forman) Kain. Donald, a World War I veteran, came from Middlesex Co., Ontario, to Regina where he was involved in the building trades, Mary was one of the first babies born at Glen Ewen. The family moved to the Palestine district to take over a family farm in 1931. George was born at Belle Plaine, educated at Regina and Palestine school and was farming with his family when he enlisted at Regina in 1941.
