| J87253 Pilot Officer (No. 576 Squadron RAF bomb aimer) Ronald Elliott Johnstone (b.1918) of Sudbury, Sudbury district, Ontario, was KIA 19440130 and is buried at Berlin 1939-45 war cemetery, Germany. Johnstone's Lancaster was lost during a night raid on Berlin. He was the son of Arthur Edward and Macil Irene (Elliott) Johnstone who came from Owen Sound, Grey Co., Ontario, to homestead SW34-10-16-W2 northeast of Yellow Grass in 1902. Ron was born at Weyburn and worked as a miner for Inco at Sudbury for a year before enlisting at North Bay, Nipissing district, late in 1941. |
