Narrative history
R120606 Flight Sergeant (No. 408 Goose Squadron RCAF pilot) George Chetwynd Heming (b.1922) of Moose Jaw was KIA 19430417 and is buried at Louppy-le-Chateau communal cemetery, Meuse, France. Heming's Halifax was shot down during his first operational mission, a major raid on the Skoda armaments works at Pilsen, Czech Republic. He was the son of Dempster Henry Ratcliffe and Kathleen Campbell (MacGregor) Heming. George was a student when he enlisted at Regina in 1941.

Three other Saskatchewan boys went down with him, see S Archie, D Zaleschuk and SJ Jorgensen.

Ironically Cecil Davis Heming, another Saskatchewan airman, died on the same day and in the same raid, but in a different plane.
