  L59803 Gunner (11 Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery) John Elmer Gulak (b.1923) of Dneiper was KIA 19440908 and is buried at Gradara war cemetery, Pesaro, Italy. He was the son of Petro (Peter) and Anastasia (Nellie) Gulak who homesteaded NW14-29-2-W2 southwest of Veregin. John was farming with his family when he enlisted at Yorkton late in 1941.
