Narrative history
  V55803 Able Seaman (HMCS Valleyfield) (Joseph) Rene Celestin Guilbault (b.1925) of Kelvington was KIA 19440507 and is commemorated on the Halifax Memorial for servicemen lost or buried at sea. He was the son of Joseph Edgar and Gabrielle Guilbault who came from Fannystelle, Manitoba, in 1921. Joseph operated a machine shop. Several of Rene's brothers also served, Lucien in the RCAF, Henri in the Army and Maxime in the Navy. Brothers Adolphe and Ovide also served in the postwar armed forces.
