J87203 Pilot Officer (No. 76 Squadron RAF pilot) Walter John Gramson (b.1919) of Delisle was KIA 19440629 and buried at Dieppe Canadian war cemetery, Hautot-sur-Mer, Seine-Maritime, France. Gramson's Halifax was shot down during a raid on Blainville-sur-Leau. He was the son of Lawrence Edward Gramson, who came from London, England, to the Peveril district in 1905, and Mary Madeline (Kirch) originally of Fredericton, New Brunswick. They farmed from 1918 at NE32-34-8-W3 across the road from Walter's namesake grandfather's homestead. Walter was farming when he enlisted at Regina early in 1942, leaving a wife Veronica Marie (Schock) and a daughter Eileen Mary at Macklin. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
