| R110773 Warrant Officer 2 (No. 83 Pathfinder Squadron RAF bomb aimer) Charles Gordon Glover (b.1920) of Windthorst was KIA 19430906 and is buried at Rheinberg war cemetery near Duisberg, Germany. Glover's Lancaster went missing during night operations over Mannheim. He was the son of Charles Oliver (Chuck) Glover who came from Ontario to operate a hardware store in 1906, and married teacher Christina (MacDonald) eight years later. Charles Jr., whose brother Ross spent his career in the Army, left a wife Gladys Caroline (Wilmeroth). He was a clerk for Canada Packers at Winnipeg before enlisting in the Army there late in 1940, transferring to the RCAF eight months later. |
