| M36512 Sapper (10 Field Squadron, Royal Canadian Engineers) Raymond William Giesen (b.1923) of Radville was KIA 19440521 during the assault on the Hitler line and is buried at Cassino war cemetery, Frosinone, Italy. His father Herman, a carpenter, and his mother Emma (Kortan) came from Brockton, Roosevelt Co., Montana, in 1921 and returned there after the war. Raymond worked as a baker for a couple of years before enlisting at Calgary late in 1941. |
