Narrative history
  C94772 Corporal (1st Canadian Parachute Battalion) Vincent Francis Germann (b.1917) of Qu'Appelle was KIA 19450324 during the assault crossing of the Rhine and is buried at Groesbeek Canadian military cemetery near Nijmegen, Gelderland, Netherlands. He was the son of Mathias J. and Regina Germann both of whom came from the Kutchurgan colonies in southern Ukraine. Vincent played hockey with the Notre Dame Hounds, Regina Caps, Flin Flon, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Phillies and Hershey Bears before the war, spending his summers at Wilcox playing baseball and studying. He enlisted at Ottawa, Ontario, in 1942.
