Narrative history
  J15424 Pilot Officer (No. 419 Moose Squadron RCAF air gunner) John Handel Freestone (b.1912) of Waldron was KIA 19420903 and is buried at Warnant-les-Dinant communal cemetery, Namur, Belgium. Freestone's Wellington was shot down during a raid on Karlsruhe, Germany. He was the son of Francis Joseph and Annie Elizabeth Freestone. John was born at Long Clawson, Leicestershire, England, graduated from King's Grammar School at Grantham, Lincolnshire, and became a radio specialist before settling with his family on a farm at Waldron southeast of Melville. He was working as a fireman when he enlisted at Toronto, Ontario, in 1940.
