Narrative history
  L53890 Corporal (Lord Strathcona's Horse) Harold Raymond Forde (b.1921) of Swift Current was KIA 19450415 during the liberation of the Netherlands and is buried at Holten Canadian war cemetery, Overijssel, Netherlands. Forde and two of his crewmates were killed when their Sherman was struck by an 88mm shell near Deelen. He was the son of Harold Charles and Florence Myrtle Forde who homesteaded SW12-17-13-W3 near the St. Aldwyn siding northeast of Swift Current. Harold was farming with his family when he enlisted at Regina in 1941.
