Narrative history
  J19844 Flight Lieutenant (No. 405 City of Vancouver Pathfinder Squadron RCAF pilot) Charles Harold Fisher DFC (b.1923) of Watrous was KIA 19440817 and is buried at Kiel war cemetery, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Fisher's Lancaster was lost during a night raid on Stettin during his second tour of operations. He was the son of Harold William and Estella Gertrude (Young) Fisher and was born at Battleford, moving to Watrous with the family in 1931. His father, known as Rusty, was awarded the MM serving with the Saskatchewan Light Horse during World War I. Charles enlisted at Saskatoon just a couple of months after graduating from Watrous high in 1941. His brother Bernie served aboard HMCS Stettler.

Distinguished Flying Cross citation (posthumous):
Flight Lieutenant Fisher, as pilot, has completed numerous operations against the enemy, in the course of which he has invariably displayed the utmost fortitude, courage and devotion to duty.
