| R94590 Flight Sergeant (No. 10 Squadron RAF observer) Francis Xavier Joseph Dunajski (b.1918) of Dilke was KIA 19421013 and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial near London, England, for airmen from the north European theatre who died with no known grave. Dunajski's Halifax failed to return from a raid on Kiel, Germany. His parents John and Johanna (Hernig) Dunajski came from Prussia to Muenster, where Francis was born, in 1913 and moved to Dilke seven years later to farm. He taught at Liberty and Findlater, and was the principal at Benson when he enlisted at Regina early in 1941. Francis' brother Irwin served with the RCAF and another brother Felix was with the Army. |
