Narrative history
  Captain (Royal Canadian Artillery) William Mervin Dirks (b.1916) of Prince Albert was KIA on D-Day 19440606 and is buried at Bény-sur-Mer Canadian war cemetery near Reviers, Calvados, France. He was the son of John Peter and Melinda Maud Dirks. William was born at Rosthern and was employed as a food services worker at the Prince Albert sanatorium when he enlisted at the city in 1940.
