| J8945 Pilot Officer (RAF Ferry Command pilot) Raymond Purdy Dezall (b.1916) of Vancouver, British Columbia, was KIA 19420529 and is commemorated on the Ottawa Memorial for airmen operating in the western hemisphere who died with no known grave. Dezall's Hudson was lost at sea on a flight out of Dorval. He was born at Vancouver, raised at Mistawasis and attended high school at Prince Albert. He farmed in the Mont Nebo area before moving to Vancouver in 1938 to work as a bookkeeper in his uncle's jewellery store, eventually enlisting in the RCAF there early in 1941.
Brother of AE Dezall. They were the sons of Robert and Ethel May Dezall (Fleurwelling) who farmed in the Mistawasis district south of Mont Nebo and later retired to Edmonton. |
