| L26272 Gunner (13 Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery) Ralph Vernon Darnell (b.1921) of Leask was KIA 19440918 and is buried at Calais Canadian war cemetery, Leubringhen, Pas-de-Calais, France. He was the son of Preston Leadline and Lila Darnell. Ralph was born at Medicine Hat, Alberta, was working as a labourer at Leask when he enlisted in 1940, and left a wife Dulcie at Belmont, Nova Scotia (she later moved to Killarney, Manitoba). |
